By identifying urban typology in the high density old housing blocks, context-oriented particularities for the city gardens become more available for further evolution of the vernacular landscape. The narrow stack of low-rise housings on a mountainous terrain is not only the perceived city identity but one of the cultural patterns of local residents. Carved granite cubes provide social interaction venues and recreational chances, as well as the idea of topographic stability. The exploration of urban landscape perspectives gives an opportunity to create a new city garden. The development of this project started in an attempt to blend the distinctive character of the architecture with the landscape.
